Terms of use of astronomical data and graphic displays

The astronomical data available on our website is published in good faith and does not carry the authority of an official document. The Zagreb Observatory – Zagreb Astronomical Association is not responsible for any errors in the published data and hereby disclaims all liability for any damages that may arise from their use.

All data published on our website is expressed in Central European Time (CET) unless otherwise stated. When daylight saving time (CET+1) is in effect, one hour should be added to the provided data. The decision to introduce daylight saving time for a specific year is made by the Government of the Republic of Croatia. The decree of the Government of the Republic of Croatia regarding daylight saving time can be found in the “Official Gazette” (Narodne novine).

All astronomical data published on our website is calculated (unless otherwise stated) using our own software solution and may differ from other sources, primarily due to different calculation methods. The basis for calculating the positions of Solar System bodies are the theories of planetary and lunar positions EPM2021 (https://iaaras.ru/en/dept/ephemeris/epm/2021/) and/or JPL Planetary and Lunar Ephemerides DE440 (https://ssd.jpl.nasa.gov/doc/Park.2021.AJ.DE440.pdf). For the calculation of precession and nutation, the IAU 2006/2000A precession-nutation model is used (Wallace, P.T. & Capitaine, N., 2006, Astron.Astrophys. 459, 981; Mathews, P.M., Herring, T.A., Buffet, B.A. 2002, J.Geophys.Res. 107, B4).

Astronomical data/calculations and graphical representations of various astronomical phenomena/events published on the zvjezdarnica.hr website are the intellectual property (unless otherwise stated) of the Zagreb Observatory and/or the authors and may not be published on other websites or in print without the written consent of the Zagreb Observatory and/or the authors.
